Clearing Land for Lakeside Cabin – Storing Equipment | S1 Ep15

In this episode we start clearing the forest for our homestead! Since the island is literally an uninhabited forest, we need begin clearing land to make room for outbuildings, storage sheds and so forth.

The first step is to decide WHERE to clear and how much. We don’t want to do this haphazardly. We need a plan, but we haven’t even had time to explore the island yet! It’s still too early to make permanent decisions. Even so, the reality is that the need for space is now, as we have to find room to put up small buildings and shelters to store our stuff safely out of the weather.

In this episode we also get the opportunity to test how the barge sails with a heavy load on deck. All this is so EXCITING!!
