In this segment, we discuss our decision to enhance the kitchen area of our tiny cabin. We found a beautiful live edge wood piece at Home Depot that we decided to turn into a countertop. The excitement of making our cabin more welcoming is palpable as we get ready to stain it. A little bit of humor shines through as we worry about the wood being warped, but Ryan assures me it’s just the ground that’s uneven.

Staining the countertop is where the magic happens! We carefully apply the butcher block oil that was recommended to us, and the transformation is stunning. It’s amazing how much of a difference a good stain can make. As we apply the stain, we realize how beautiful the wood grain looks and how much it enhances our tiny cabin aesthetic.
