Installing Windows in our Off Grid Cabin
This is the day we get to install the first windows in our tiny cabin! We have 9 windows in total to install. If that seems like a lot of windows for a tiny cabin, you are correct. To install one window is a lot of work, but NINE? One thing is for sure, the view will be AMAZING!!

Much Needed Barge Upgrades
As we began work on our cabin, we also remembered that our barge needed some serious upgrades. Ryan had been fixing the ramps to ensure they could be raised and lowered safely without risking injury. This was a crucial improvement since the ramps had previously posed a danger with their tendency to snap back. The goal is to eventually power them with hydraulics or winches, making our tasks much easier.
All Our Wood is Underwater!
Upon returning to our island, we discovered that our wood was underwater, which was definitely not part of the plan! It was a shocking sight, as we thought we had placed the wood in a safe area. Now, we need to figure out how to move it to allow it to dry properly. This unexpected situation is just one example of the the importance of planning ahead while building an off grid cabin in the wilderness.
Window Install Begins
Finally, the moment we had been waiting for — the installing windows in our tiny cabin! With nine windows to put in, we knew it wouldn’t be easy, but it was going to be worth it. The first window went in smoothly, and the excitement grew with each additional window installed. We love having light and ventilation in our cabin, and windows play a huge role in achieving that. The view from the windows was simply breathtaking, and we couldn’t wait to see how it would look once all the windows were in place.

As we wrapped up the day, we received a wonderful gift from Farace. It was a special tool that would help us take amazing pictures of the views from our windows. This was a thoughtful gesture that perfectly enhances our connection with the incredible scenery surrounding our tiny cabint.
