Today we actually start to build our off grid tiny cabin! The day has finally arrived. We have barged over materials and equipment to help us clear the build site and start our off grid tiny cabin build. This is so exciting!

Reflecting on our initial visit, this spot seemed perfect for our tiny cabin. Overlooking the lake, it offers a picturesque view and a strategic location for launching the barge. We envisioned the cabin nestled between the poplars, promising a serene escape. As we prepare to build a tiny cabin, we can’t help but recall these early dreams.

Introducing the Joolca, our off-grid hot water system, was a game-changer. With a simple connection to a propane tank, it delivers boiling hot water directly from the lake. Safety is paramount as we clear dangerous trees, known as “widowmakers,” from our site. These dead trees, remnants of a beetle infestation, pose risks that we cannot ignore. Our new Adirondack chairs, painted in a vibrant hue, add a splash of color and comfort to our surroundings.
