Join us on a serene fishing and off grid cooking adventure as we hook and net rainbow trout, captured in stunning underwater footage. We dip the camera into the water and find it is literally teeming with life! We are hoping to hook a beautiful rainbow, land it successfully and find ourselves enjoying it just 30 minutes later. We have done it before, and let me tell you… it just doesn’t get any fresher than that! Preparing and sharing a SUPER FRESH, flavorful trout dinner while embracing the simplicity of wilderness life is a moment we are fortunate to experience together.

As we begin our fishing adventure, we are energized with the prospect of catching and enjoying a little off grid cooking – my mouth is watering! We managed to fasten a camera to a long pole to capture stunning underwater shots of the fish. The lake is teeming with life, and this beautiful summer evening beckons us to fish. The anticipation builds as we see rainbow trout swimming beneath us. It’s like being in the world’s biggest aquarium, and we can’t wait to see what we can catch!

With our gear set, we are eager to catch dinner. The sunset paints the sky, and the tranquility of the lake enhances the experience. We discuss the off-grid lifestyle and how solar power plays a role in our lives. While some may debate what it means to be off the grid, we embrace our independence and the beauty surrounding us.

Suddenly, the excitement spikes! One of us has a fish on the line! We scramble to capture the moment on our underwater camera, hoping to document the whole experience from the fish’s perspective. It’s exhilarating as the line tugs, and we work together to reel it in. The thrill of catching our dinner adds to the overall joy of our off grid lifestyle. Off grid cooking right on the shore of the lake is as good as it gets!

After successfully landing a beautiful rainbow trout, we prepare it for dinner. We use fresh ingredients including lemon, Himalayan salt, and a special fish spice blend. The trout is cleaned and seasoned, ready to be cooked over our campfire. This is the essence of off grid cooking — fresh, simple, and delicious. The aroma fills the air as we wait for our meal to cook, and we can’t wait to dig in!
As we savor our dinner, we reflect on the day’s adventures and the beauty of living off the grid. There’s something incredibly rewarding about catching your own food and enjoying it in nature.
