Big Fire at Hope, BC
As we traveled across the beautiful Canadian landscape, we encountered a significant fire near Hope, BC. We witnessed it just moments after it started, and it quickly escalated to a massive 50-hectare blaze overnight. It was astonishing to see the rapid growth of the fire and the response from local firefighters. This experience hit home as we contemplated the unpredictable nature of wilderness living.
Fresh Crepes in Montreal
Our travels took us to Montreal, where we indulged in some delicious crepes and omelets. The local cuisine was a delightful treat, and we couldn’t resist sharing our culinary adventures. The trip out east was brief by design as we couldn’t wait to return to the island for the next exciting phase of our off grid life.

Our furry companion, Opal, joined us on this journey, bringing joy and warmth to our travels. She is part of our family and a constant reminder of the love and connection we share. We cherish these moments together, as they are what make this wilderness life so special.
