Who says off Grid Bathrooms Can’t be luxurious?
So this is our off grid bathroom, complete with shower, sink, changing station and incinerator toilet! We have just a few finishing touches left, but we think it’s looking pretty sweet! This little bathroom, which we call our “Bird Bath” is clean, functional and fully equipped! There is nothing like a hot shower in the wilderness! This is totally awesome!!

The main criterion for our Wilderness Oasis is:
- Environmentally friendly
- NOT messy – we don’t want to deal with any waste!
- Super nice
We have now finished our bathroom project by renovating our tool shed, and have a dedicated episode where you can see what we’ve been up to. Click the link below to check it out…

If any of you have seen something really nice or different, be sure to leave a comment below so we can check it out too!

I love watching your episodes from good ole Maine. Is your goal to live here full time eventually or is it just a seasonal retreat?
I can’t wait to see where you go from here.

Terrific! So nice you came by for a visit. We are building out our homestead little by little and hope to be able to live here full time soon. Thank you so much for watching! Melodi and Ryan.
Hello, i love watching your video’s and the way you 2 are making the island liveable. Making a driveable path over the island is a lot of work. I might have a advice for you because the mosquitos are attacking you there. Only 1 thing you can do about that. Plant some walnut trees on the spots you are living and sitting because NO insect will come close to a walnut tree. So you will not have to use insect repellent all the time.
Thank you for watching! That is a great idea… Do you know of a variety of walnut tree that can survive in a very sandy soil in grow zone 3? It gets pretty cold up here! -Ryan
