The Challenge of Space
When we first built our tiny cabin, we were excited about the idea of living simply and close to nature. However, we soon realized that maneuvering around a small space while both of us are inside could be quite tricky. Our original setup with a king-sized air mattress took up a lot of room, leaving us feeling cramped. We knew we had to find a way to create more space without sacrificing comfort.

Introducing Our New Bed
After some thought, we decided to swap out our king-sized air mattress combo for a queen-sized mattress. This change would give us an additional 25 inches of space, which may not seem like much, but in our tiny cabin, it made a significant difference. We were excited to see how this new bed would transform our living area.

Maximizing Under-Bed Storage
One of the best parts about our new bed design is the ability to utilize the space underneath for storage. We’ve been storing various bins under the bed, which has helped keep our cabin organized. This practical approach not only declutters the living area but also makes it easier to find what we need without digging through piles of stuff.

Enhancing Lighting
Next on our list of improvements was upgrading our lighting. We installed pot lights in the ceiling to create a brighter and more inviting atmosphere. Good lighting is essential in a small space, as it can make the area feel larger and more open. The new lights have truly transformed how we experience our tiny cabin.

Improving Air Quality
With the smoky air outside, we knew we needed to focus on improving air quality indoors. We invested in an air purifier that has made a noticeable difference. It’s reassuring to know that we can breathe cleaner air, especially during the times when the outside conditions aren’t ideal. Our air purifier has become a vital part of our cabin setup.

The Joy of Gardening
Living off the grid has its perks, especially when it comes to gardening. We’ve begun cultivating our own vegetables, and nothing beats the freshness of home-grown produce. We recently harvested our first tomatoes and lettuce and made an incredible salad that Ryan raved over. It’s a reminder of the self-sustaining lifestyle we’re striving for.

Final Thoughts
Making more space in our tiny cabin was a challenge we embraced wholeheartedly. It required us to think creatively and make some thoughtful changes to our living situation. With the new bed, improved storage solutions, better lighting, and enhanced air quality, we’ve made our tiny space feel more comfortable and functional. Each day, we continue to learn and adapt, finding joy in the little things that come with living in a small cabin. We hope our experiences inspire you to tackle your own space challenges!
